…making records that sound like records!

What’s Happening in 2014…

The new Graham Day & The Forefathers single sold out its first heavyweight black vinyl press on pre-oder alone!! For the first time, we’ve done a 2nd press on normal weight clear vinyl which is already selling very well!

28th July sees the release of the new Groovy Uncle/Suzi Chunk single, “Barefoot In The Car Park” b/w “Wet Weekend”. Another instalment in the ‘Sandgate Sound Acetate’ series on heavy vinyl, limited to 500 copies with numbered lyric insert!

27th October will see the release of the amazing new by Danish Beat supremos, The Youth. Tracked at The Ponswood Hit Factory at the beginning of June, the release marks a change of style, inasmuch as this will be the first State 7″ to feature an old-style push-out centre!! We’re very excited to be working with Optimal Pressing to achieve this aesthetically wonderful end result! The single will also come housed in all-new screen-printed State company bags supplied by Bags Unlimited in the US, and the 1st 250 copies will include a numbered postcard!!!

Not 100% confirmed yet, but looking good – we will be rush-releasing the first single by happening new French R & B punkers, Les GriGris, most likely in conjunction with the Youth single. This will be a limited run of just 300, primarily to coincide with the group’s European tour in late October/early November. Stay tuned!

Then early next year we will hopefully [all relevant digits crossed] have a VERY SPECIAL REISSUE RELEASE up our sleeve. Can’t reveal too much yet, not until everything’s 100% confirmed and in place, but it’s looking very good. We have the endorsement of the original songwriting and production team already in place. Suffice to say, we hope to be releasing something that’s been previously booted from master tape for the first time in over 48 years!! It’s a classic slice of ’66 crunch, so stay tuned.
